Oğuzcan İren joined EBB Law Firm as a legal intern in 2015 and was admitted to the Istanbul Bar in 2016. He was promoted to Partner with effect from July 2026 and has been working closely with Burcu Bilgin.

Oğuzcan has extensive experience in shipping, transport and (re)insurance law, with a particular focus on complex, high-value and cross-border disputes.

His shipping practice covers marine casualties, collisions, charterparty disputes, cargo claims, general average, shipbuilding and repair contracts, S&P transactions, ship finance, ship engine and marine equipment sales and marine insurance matters.

On the transport side, Oğuzcan has substantial experience in disputes arising under the CMR, including successive carriage, sub-carriage and recourse claims. He also advises on freight forwarding, warehousing and logistics operations.

He regularly advises insurers, reinsurers and brokers. His experience includes H&M, Bankers Blanket Bond, D&O, product liability and manufacturer’s liability policies, as well as claims arising from marine casualties, warehouse fires, fraud and complex reinsurance claims.

He is an experienced litigator and represents clients before Turkish courts in technically and commercially complex disputes. His clients include shipowners, charterers, P&I Clubs, insurers and reinsurers, brokers, freight forwarders, manufacturers, marinas, commodity traders and leading international law firms.

Oğuzcan is a co-author of the Türkiye chapter of the fourth edition of Karl-Heinz Thume’s Kommentar zur CMR. He is a co-author of the Transport by Road chapter of the International Encyclopaedia of Laws Transport Law in Türkiye, published by Kluwer Law International. He also wrote a thesis on the sub-carriages and recourse actions subject to CMR.
