Pelin Erkut has been a partner of the firm since 1 June 2023. She has been recognised as a Next Generation Partner in Insurance by the Legal 500 EMEA for the latest three consecutive years and was recognised as a Rising Star in Insurance in 2022 and 2023.

After graduating from the Istanbul Bilgi University Faculty of Law with first-class honours in 2010, she attended the Insurance Law LL.M. programme at Queen Mary University of London in 2012-2013, graduating with distinction. She then spent two months on secondment at one of the leading shipping and insurance law firms in London.

Since joining EBB in 2010, Pelin Erkut has been involved in many of the firm’s most complex and high-profile insurance and reinsurance cases, with a particular focus on coverage disputes arising under the liability, D&O, BBB, CAR, fire, property damage and product recall policies, as well as earthquake-related losses. She advises various insurers and reinsurers in Turkey and abroad, as well as leading London law firms, on both contentious and non-contentious matters. She has solid experience in both arbitration and mediation proceedings. Her practice also encompasses insurance regulatory matters, including advising underwriters on policy drafting and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

On the aviation side, she has been recognised as a top-tier aviation lawyer, together with Feyzi Erçin. She assists numerous major airlines worldwide, both directly and through international law firms. She regularly advises (re)insurers on coverage and litigation arising from aviation-related matters. Her experience extends to a wide range of aviation matters, including general aviation claims, cargo losses and personal injury claims. She is a co-author of the Air Transport chapter of the International Encyclopaedia of Laws Transport Law in Türkiye, published by Kluwer Law International.

On the shipping side, she advises clients on ship sale and purchase transactions. For many years, she has also advised one of Turkey's largest shipyards, with a particular focus on the drafting and negotiation of shipbuilding and ship repair contracts, as well as contractual disputes.
